Getting Started
What is CCAD?
The Canadian College of Aesthetic Dermatology (CCAD) is an online professional training college founded and led by Manucher Nick. It is the online academic program of an established in-person training institute in Coquitlam, BC. CCAD offers a 5-level academic ladder from Basic Certificate through Master Practitioner.
Who is CCAD for?
Aesthetic technicians, estheticians, nurses, physicians, dentists, and anyone pursuing a career in aesthetic dermatology. Most levels are open to all learners; the Master Practitioner level has restricted sections (Botox and dermal fillers) limited to licensed medical professionals.
How do I sign up?
Create an account at canadiancollegeofaestheticdermatology.com/auth/signup. You'll set up your profile, agree to the consent and liability forms, and choose your first level. Most students start with the Basic Certificate (Level I).
Is there a mobile app?
Yes — the CCAD iOS app is available on the App Store. The Basic Certificate and Diploma can be purchased directly inside the iOS app via Apple in-app purchase. Bachelor, Master, and Master Practitioner are purchased on the web via Stripe.
Courses & Curriculum
What are the 5 levels?
Level I — Basic Certificate ($950, 30 chapters), Level II — Diploma ($1,500, 40 chapters), Level III — Bachelor ($2,200, 60 chapters), Level IV — Master ($2,995, 80 chapters), Level V — Master Practitioner ($3,995, 100 chapters). Each level builds on the previous one.
Do I have to take them in order?
Yes. CCAD enforces a sequential prerequisite: you must pass the final exam of Level N before you can enrol in Level N+1. This is checked in the UI and again at checkout, so the gate is enforced both client- and server-side.
How long does each level take?
It depends on your pace. Levels are listed with rough estimated hours (Basic ≈ 100 hours of content, Master Practitioner ≈ 850), but you set the schedule. You have six months of access from purchase to complete a level. If you need more time you can re-enrol.
Are the courses online only?
Yes — CCAD's courses are fully online: video, reading, quizzes, and a final exam. Students who specifically want hands-on equipment-based training can attend the in-person institute (BC Medical Aesthetic) at the Coquitlam, BC campus.
Certification & Credibility
Is the CCAD certificate recognized?
CCAD certificates of completion reflect the CCAD curriculum and are issued by CCAD. Manucher Nick is a designated training operator under the B.C. Private Training Act (B.C. Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit). Certificates are not a substitute for any provincial licence required to perform a given procedure — students are responsible for confirming the scope of practice that applies to their province.
How is the online certification different from in-person?
It isn't, for credential purposes. The curriculum, exams, and certification standards are identical online and in-person. Online students receive the same CCAD credentials; in-person students additionally complete hands-on clinical training on real equipment at the Coquitlam campus.
Can I open my own clinic after graduating?
Many of Manucher's graduates now run their own aesthetic practices across Canada. CCAD courses cover clinical technique plus business coaching, practice launch planning, and marketing. Local scope-of-practice rules still apply — what you're licensed to perform depends on your province and your professional credentials.
Prerequisites & Restrictions
Who can take Master Practitioner?
The Master Practitioner level (Level V) includes Botox and dermal-filler training. Those sections are restricted to licensed medical professionals — physicians, nurses, or dentists — as required by regulation. You'll be asked to declare your professional licence on your profile before checkout.
What if I'm not a medical professional?
You can still complete Levels I–IV (Basic Certificate through Master) — these cover the full breadth of non-injectable aesthetic dermatology, including laser, IPL, peels, microneedling, RF, HIFU, body contouring, and more. The restriction only applies to the injectable-specific sections of Level V.
Do I need to be in Canada to enrol?
No. CCAD is open to students worldwide. Provincial scope-of-practice rules and Canadian-licence requirements only apply to practitioners working inside Canada.
Pricing & Payment
How does payment work?
Each level is a one-time purchase. On the web, payment is handled by Stripe (credit/debit cards). On iOS, Basic and Diploma are purchased via Apple in-app purchase; Bachelor, Master, and Master Practitioner are purchased on the web only.
Are there monthly fees?
No. Each level is a one-time fee. You get six months of access to a level from the date of purchase to complete it.
How does CCAD compare in price to in-person training?
Traditional in-person aesthetic dermatology training can cost up to $7,750 per course. CCAD courses range from $950 to $3,995, depending on the level. That's up to 80% less than equivalent in-person programs while teaching the same curriculum.
Do you offer refunds?
Refund eligibility depends on the level of course content you've accessed and the platform you purchased on (Stripe or Apple). See the Terms of Service for the full refund policy, and contact support if you need to discuss your specific situation.
AI Instructor
What is the AI Instructor?
An AI tutor modelled on Manucher Nick's teaching style. It answers questions about procedures, technique, protocols, safety, and aesthetic-business strategy, available 24/7 from your dashboard. It's a study aid, not a replacement for the course content or clinical supervision.
Is there a usage limit?
Your AI Instructor usage is metered by dollar-spend, not message count. Each level you enrol in adds budget; the dashboard shows your spent and remaining balance clearly. Enrolling in another level extends your budget.
Is my conversation private?
AI Instructor conversations are processed by Anthropic to generate responses. No directly identifying account fields are sent in the prompt — only the messages you type and anonymized context (active course, tier). See the Privacy Policy for the full disclosure.
